BRDM hits to kill should be more accurate now. There was a change it launched with that allows per-vehicle damage modifiers for different damage sources that I didn't notice. The number before was too low for guns. The effect is more dramatic for low-damage weapons: the Skorpion needs more than twice the number of hits than previously stated from 228 to 500, the AKM/Groza/Mutant go from 103 to 136, while the AWM goes from 48 to 54.
